This is it folks. One more trip to the big city to finish the record and I should have all the pieces recorded. Then it goes off into other people's hands to be edited, mixed and mastered and then I have a finished record! It's been such a long time coming and I have mixed emotions about finally finishing something that has been on my mind for so long. A little bit of nervousness, a bunch of excitement with a dash of fear... There's no knowing what will come next. I guess we'll see... I hope you like it!

A New Kind Of Light is a collection of Christmas songs, recorded by myself and two of my great singer/songwriter friends, Jill Barber and Rose Cousins. It was originally released in 2008 but sold out within the first few weeks of being available. Many thanks to the beautiful and generous people who bought multiple copies for everyone they know! Happily, FINALLY, it is available again!

I just got back from recording the first four tracks off my upcoming album and I am thrilled with how they turned out. But peeps, I have to say, they are very different from my last album. Where it was mostly a vintage vibe with hints of modern sounds, this is mostly modern sounding with vintage hints... I wonder if you'll like them!!?? I am really proud of them! I worked really hard to write great songs that are catchy but still full of raw emotion and feeling. The production is really just the clothes the songs are wearing.

It's official. I am going to London UK to begin recording my second record!!! This has been a very long and winding journey and I'm just happy to still be going. Stay tuned for updates...

Well, big things are in the works for this fall! Primarily, a new record!! I've FINALLY finished writing all the songs and am now on the hunt for the perfect producer. I am hoping that you will have a new record come fall/spring of 2013!!

And I have a whole slew of new shows coming this fall. I'm playing an exciting concert with the Regina Symphony Orchestra in conjunction with an Art Show that will be in a local gallery! More to come on that, so stay tuned! We are doing another little Christmas run as well, so hopefully we'll see you out there before the year is through!

I can't believe it's the summer. Wow. Time just flys by. I am writing my face off. And I'll tell you why it's taking me so long to make my next record(as in years.) It's taking me so long because… It's not good enough for you yet. I have travelled a long and somewhat winding road to get to this point in my writing. Maybe you will hear it, maybe you won't. But I hear it. And I really feel like I'm finally writing songs that are interesting enough, honest enough, and that I like enough to share with you.

2012 is here already! In fact, it's February. I can't believe how fast time flies!

I'm pushing myself every day to write more honest songs. You probably wouldn't believe how hard it is to be honest to yourself... Maybe you would but that's what song writing is to me. And it's not easy. But hopefully I'll be a better songwriter for it.

Stay tuned as I go though the process of making another album and make many many more mini paintings...

I have been having the most wonderful summer! It's been crazy, but awesome. We just finished a 5 week tour where we stopped over in the US and did a cross Canada tour! And now we are in England! I'm at my Uncle and Aunt's house right now in Saskatoon Saskatchewan (yes, it's a real place!). Jason is down stairs playing hide and seek with my cousin's little kids. They are squeeling and laughing and trying not to be loud, to no avail. So cute. We sound check in a few hours and then hit the stage. I am nervous about tonight. It takes courage to be on the road.
